Are you tired?
Worn out?
Burned out on religion?
Come to me.
Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.
I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

PRACTICES
Prayer is the center-point of life with God. It should be woven into the fabric of our daily routine, our weekly schedule. We should make time for prayer every single day. Even if we have to stay up all night. It is here where we get to enjoy the Father’s company. Prayer is our opportunity to interact with the Creator God and participate in his work of bringing redemption to earth. This practice involves contemplation, intercession, lament, unanswered prayer, imaginative prayer, and listening prayer.
We are all being formed by something. Scripture is a library of writings, both divine and human, that tell a unified story, leading us to Jesus. But are the words in this strange, ancient book still relevant? Do they still mean anything to us today? To Jesus, Scripture is trustworthy. To Jesus, Scripture has authority. Scripture is designed to be read for formation. To shape us into the image of Jesus. In these divine writings, we find life. In these holy writings, we find a new way to be human.
The Sabbath is a day blessed by God and set aside to stop working, rest, delight, and worship. One of the most important practices of Jesus was finding rest and making time for Sabbath Rest. The human condition is prone to restlessness and our digital age and consumeristic culture only exacerbate the problem. By practicing Sabbath Rest we model the unhurried way of Jesus to the world, more than just a day, but a rhythm we live by all week long, in all we do.
ABOUT CROWN HEIGHTS CHURCH
Crown Heights Church hopes to be salt-seasoning, bringing out the God-flavors of this earth, and to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.
We desire to be a people of prayer, peace, and joy where we Live, work, and play.
We welcome all seeking God’s love and are open to every soul seeking wholeness in Jesus.
"The church is only the church when it exists for others...The church must share in the secular problems of ordinary human life, not dominating, but helping and serving. It must tell men (sic) of every calling what it means to live in Christ, to exist for others."
(Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison).
